It’s been 24 years since Pearl Jam first took to the
stage. There have been very few lineup
changes in that time, so it’s safe to say that this is truly an original
version (if you count Matt Cameron’s sixteen year tenure,) of the band. Tickets for Pearl Jam Milwaukee are on sale
now. Their tour is titled “Pearl Jam 2014.”
The two shows leading up to the date at the BMO Harris
Bradley Center are already sold out. The
performance date following Milwaukee is also sold out. It’s safe to say that this event is in high
demand. The tour ends with a pair of shows at the Shoreline Amphitheater in
Mountain View, California.
What can be said about Pearl Jam that hasn’t already been
covered? Their first studio album came out in 1991, at the height of the “Grunge”
era. That’s right about the time that they lost “drummer number one” to
Saturday Night Live’s house band. Matt Chamberlain was out, and he handpicked
his replacement in Dave Abbruzzese.
Within two years of the album release, the group would find themselves
on a huge national tour, and in front of a live audience on television. Their list of albums has now reached number
ten, and that one is titled Lightning Bolt. Prior to that release, the band put
out “Backspacer,” in 2009.
